Self-representation is a good way of expressing your views about the case and this would help you to tell everything to the judge without any change from the original. When a lawyer explains a situation that happened to you, you may feel some difference in the way of expressing the situation and this can be overcome by self-representation which allows you to express the incident fully. In self-representation you can express everything in a way it happened and you need not be afraid of any change that would be taking place when expressed by your lawyer.

Self-representation would be very advantageous if you explain the situation very clearly. But when you are not confident enough of expressing yourself then you have to choose a lawyer to express your views. When you opt for self-representation you must prepare yourself for the argument and you cannot make any mistake in the argument since that would turn against yourself in the later stage of the case.

The other important thing in self-representation is that the words that you use must be carefully spoke because the lawyer in the opposite side may capture your word and turn the case against you. The self-representation may sometime prove bad since the counterpart lawyer may overcome you in the argument by his experience in this field.

Then the other drawback is that the questioning of the witness should be good. The other thing is that the procedure of the court has to be followed sharply by the lawyer and the judge would expect the same from the self-representing accused.
